We are pleased to present the new collection from HUF for Summer 2019.
This Summer HUF presents ‘Semi-Tropic,’ a new collection celebrating the birthplace of skate and surf subcultures amongst the brand’s sunny Southern California locale. Evoking California’s diverse landscapes, the collection prides a dynamic colour palette juxtaposing foamy harbour blues, warm sand tans, transplant palm tree greens and bittersweet-fuchsia sunset hues that pop against the bone-grey concrete textures of gritty downtown Los Angeles.
Innovative embroidery, patchwork, taping, puff-print and UV-activated graphic stories nod towards nostalgic airbrushed souvenirs, local ephemera, vintage horticultural illustrations and throwback real estate advertisements painting SoCal as the ‘Garden of the World.’
Native floral prints, bold colour-blocking, psychedelic DIY tie-dyes, classic stripe themes andvibrant serape patterns take life across avant-garde fabrications. Breathable seersucker and poplin, lightweight packable nylons, durable denim, and garment-dyed twills comprise streamlined cut and sew, hats, and accessories to capture cool and casual California vibes.
Through HUF’s progressive vision, the ‘Semi-Tropic’ collection bridges retro southland style with modern-cut goods, continuing the pioneering tradition and alternative spirit that defines the California coast.
The Forbidden Fruit graphic is applied in a repeat pattern across the bright fuchsia rayon Peachy short-sleeve shirt, making for one of this season's absolute highlights.
The island sunset Venice allover print is also a key feature of this collection, perfectly capturing the summer vibes. Look for it featured on the 1/4 zip Packable Anorak, rayon Short-Sleeve Shirt, EasyShort and Bucket Hat.
An excellent Desert Camo also runs through the Summer collection, making an appearance on this season's Standard Shell Jacket, elastic-waist Easy Pant and Short and the Tompkins Shoulder Bag.
The HUF Productions Inc pullover windbreaker is a homage to 90s sportswear, executed here in bright purple, with a mesh overlay across a reflective HUF logo, paired with colour-blocked Vista Easy Shorts.
The Aura Longsleeve is another piece highlighting the bold use of colour throughout this collection. The tee features a multi-coloured screen-print on the chest and sleeve, popping against a black or white background.
The Boner graphic range is great nod to classic skateboard designs and crops up throughout the range on longsleeves, tees, hats and socks, each featuring a variation of the Triple Triangle or Classic H logo.
The Issue graphic plays on the 70's Skateboarder Magazine logo and features on a variety of pieces, from cut and sew styles like the Denim Jacket, Fleece Pant and Packable Anorak though classic logo crewnecks, tees, hats and socks.
HUF's beloved Fuck It motif also returns this season on Polo Shirts, Shorts and a number of accessories that include Summer essentials like the Fuck It Tote Bag, Cooler Bag, Beach Towel and Slide.
