We are pleased to present the new collection from HUF for Fall 2019.
For Fall 2019 HUF presents 'Dusk till Dawn,’ a new collection reinterpreting notions of global exploration“to the ends of the earth”. Putting the HUF DBC spin on traditional travel garments, the season riffs on post-apocalyptic themes while evoking the pioneering ethos of nostalgic Americana.
A muted colour palette punched by rusty reds, botanical greens, and midnight blues casts an ominous tone across dystopian-driven graphics, wilted floral patterns, tactical camouflages, and nature-inspired tie-dye washes. Versatile silhouettes cut from technical fabrics emphasise functionality and adaptability key to navigating shifting landscapes.
Through HUF’s progressive direction, the ‘Dusk till Dawn’ collection embodies innovative design in response to the crisis of our times, maintaining the DIY spirit of resistance that defines skateboarding and forward-thinking subcultures.
Incorporating current trends and timeless fashions, a tartan plaid thread runs throughout the collection, bringing together items like the Vicious Pullover Hoodie and Spungen Crew with accompanying caps and bucket hats. Trends also lead us to continue exploring short-sleeve shirts with new floral designs (Manakai, Camden) and new variations on HUF's trademark 'Fuck It' motif.
Pieces are elevated with detailed embroidery, patches and additional applique elements across the range. Print stories also feature heavily, with elements of animal print and rain camo peppering the collection.
Graphics play on current times and end of the world vibes and continue to celebrate HUF as a worldwide brand with the return of our popular World Tour Anorak. Also returning in new colour options is the successful Prism design, just one of the seasonal variations on the Triple Triangle Logo.
Dye patterns are used in a multitude of different ways to create several unique pieces, including the half-and-half Eclipse Hoodie, multicolour Regional Longsleeve and custom Further Tee, while printed tee graphics reference comic book artwork, band logos and advertising posters.
As we enter the depth of Fall, Delivery 2 provides insulation and layering in the form of Flight Jackets,Puffer Jackets and outdoors-inspired anoraks, complete with sherpa linings and water resistantcoatings. Heavy 380 gram pullover hoods and longsleeve knits provide all the warmth required for the season.
All shapes, textures and colours are covered in this season's headwear, with designs tying back to several apparel items. As expected, Fall provides an excellent selection of beanies in a variety of designs and colour options.
The Fall collection also includes a very special collaboration with celebrated fantasy artist Frank Frazetta.
American artist Frank Frazetta was born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1928 and is recognised worldwide as having redefined the aesthetics of fantasy and science fiction genres. Beginning his professional career as a comic book artist at age 15, Frazetta’s lifelong practice shaped both popular and underground-culture visual landscapes through such works as his 1964 satirical portrait of Ringo Starr for Mad Magazine, iconic interpretations of Tarzan and Conan, and his very own ‘Death Dealer’ character.
Having passed away in 2010, Frazetta’s legacy as the ‘father of fantasy’ lives on through his inventive cast of characters that have graced countless comic books, novels, movie posters, album covers, and more. HUF is proud to present an exclusive capsule collection featuring Frazetta’s works across a range of tees, fleece, jackets, hats and accessories.
Accessories this season include a thick plush blanket, packable poncho, canteen and head torch, many or which carry the 'Fuck It' motif, alongside the skate deck, shot glasses, stickers and tote bag which form part of the Frazetta collection.
Finally, this season's new colours in our Essentials range include Rust, Botanical Green, Dried Herb,Sauterne, Purple Velvet, Blue Mirage and Rosewood Red, providing an excellent dose of autumnal colour as a base layer for this collection.
