We are excited to present the new collection from HUF for Fall 2018.
This Fall, HUF expands upon the 'Last Resort' theme introduced in Summer by broadening its horizons through an exploration into the far east we like to call 24 Hours in Tokyo. Maintaining its pioneering ethos - where it's all about the journey, not the destination - the season celebrates counterculture spirit through the unfamiliar sights discovered along foreign roadsides and in the offbeat sounds of backstreets.
Evoking the surreal glow of colourful neon signs suffusing hazy city nights, the collection embodies a subdued colour palette energised by subtle colour pops. Mood Indigo blues inspired by traditional Japanese dyes meet the rich reds, khaki tones and tropical greens encountered in ancient temples and sun-bleached beaches. Key indigo pieces include the 12oz Domestic Denim Jacket and floral printed Memorial Short Sleeve Shirt.
Dynamic graphic themes culled from vintage tourist tees, souvenir paraphernalia, exotic sign typography, and back-alley bars are expressed through innovative screen and puff prints, high-densityinks and tonal gels, recording the ephemeral experiences of moments on the road. Look out for the reversible Peep Show Varsity Jacket and short sleeve woven alongside graphic tee highlights like HUF City Rockers, High Score, and Katakana.
Complimenting the visual landscape is a collaborative capsule with iconic Japanese artistHajime Sorayama, integrating the artist's sensually provocative fembot-erotica across the range. The highlights of this capsule range are the screen-printed Quarter-zip Anorak and spiral tie-dye Triple Triangle T-shirt. All items in the capsule feature a custom HUF x Sorayama woven label.
Experimentation with regional Japanese Shibori dye techniques advances HUF's avant-garde wash andtie-dye repertoire, while subversive repeat and camouflage patterns are applied to contemporary cut military and workwear inspired silhouettes. Key pieces include the dip-dye Horizon Wash French Terry Crew and Fleece Short and the Neo Camo range including a short sleeve shirt, elastic-waist Easy Pantand the Sabotage Jumpsuit alongside the Tompkins Backpack, Duffel Bag and Shoulder Pack.
High-quality embroidery and appliqué materialize in unconventional placements over premium fabrications, creating unexpected twists through mixed-medium interplay. Some of the best examples of detailed embroidery include the National Pullover, Sayonara Coaches Jacket, and Team LogoPullover.
The collection is bolstered by an expanded Essentials offering to include new colours in some of our best-selling designs, tying these back to the seasonal colour palette. You will find Triple Triangle, Box Logo and Original Logo designs reinterpreted in Honey Mustard, Terracotta and Tropical Greenamongst other colours.
Our range of headwear is developed in the same palette as we continue to focus on premium quality materials incorporating wool, crushed velvet and polar fleece into a variety of designs
Fall 2018 socks centre around our best-selling Plantlife design in new colours and executions alongside seasonal graphics like the Dive Bar, Grand Prix, and World Tour designs and a core logo offering covering Triple Triangle, OG Logo, and Circle H.
The collection is completed by a small range of accessories including ceramic Sake Set and a rubberFlashlight Keychain.
Slides featuring the seasonal National logo can be found in the footwear section of the catalogue.
Through HUF's progressive vision, the Last Resort is a psychedelic escape from disillusion, a collection that is at once timeless and truly unique.
